Educational Occupational Therapist

Location: Tuskegee, AL

Join our expanding Home Health Agency in Tuskegee, AL! We are seeking experienced occupational therapists to join our team.

Start Date: August 2024


As an Educational Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate and provide treatment to patients in order to enhance their daily functioning in activities such as dressing, toileting, bathing, cooking, and recreational pursuits. The exercises used will focus on stretching, strengthening, and improving flexibility. Your role will also involve restoring range of joint motion, muscle strength, and providing fine motor training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and providing supervision
  • Assisting with the development of fine motor skills to enhance grasping, releasing, and handwriting abilities
  • Addressing hand-eye coordination to improve play skills, such as hitting targets or copying from a blackboard
  • Helping individuals with developmental delays perform daily tasks more independently, such as toileting, bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and feeding themselves
  • Working with individuals who have sensory and attention issues to improve focus and social skills
  • Teaching anger-management techniques to individuals with behavioral disorders, promoting positive methods of coping with anger
  • Evaluating patients' need for specialized equipment, such as wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, or communication aids


  • Graduate degree required, either a master's degree or a clinical doctorate
