Role Summary

As a Lead Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving automation and innovation across our high-speed packaging operations throughout North America. This hands-on role involves designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting automation systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Working closely with production, technical operations, and procurement teams, you will develop customized solutions aligned with our growth strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Design and implement automation systems for packaging, processing, and material handling.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and collaborate with vendors to address system challenges.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance line efficiency, safety, and quality while reducing costs.
  • Guide and support site engineers on automation concepts and specifications.
  • Stay up to date with the latest practices and emerging technologies in automation for packaging.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Technical Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an automation or controls role for a manufacturing company, preferably in the food or high-speed packaging industries.
  • Experience with automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, HMI design, and configuration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills, with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% depending on project requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Direct involvement in automation projects within the food, beverage, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Experience working with equipment integrators and high-speed bottling systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced packaging and processing automation technologies.
