Job Summary of the Senior Design Engineer:
The Senior Design Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of design engineers to develop innovative mechanical products and systems that meet the expectations of our customers.
Qualifications of Senior Design Engineer:
- Plan and execute engineering projects based on customer requirements.
- Evaluate mechanical systems and products through research and applying principles of mechanics, hydraulics, and materials.
- Design and test methods to confirm system capabilities.
- Create mechanical products that meet customer specifications.
- Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes and equipment modifications to improve efficiency.
- Ensure product quality by designing testing methods and analyzing data.
- Create product reports by gathering and summarizing information.
- Provide engineering support and respond to inquiries.
- Comply with government regulations to maintain product and company reputation.
- Maintain system and product database through data entry and programming.
Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Preferred experience in heavy equipment, heavy haul or heavy trailer, tractor, farming or agriculture engineering design.
- At least 6 years of experience in engineering design.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Proficiency in designing welding steel structures, hydraulics, and steel design.
- Experience in perimeter design modeling.
- Track record of contributing significantly to design projects.
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Design software systems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Understanding of cost accounting.
- Ability to embrace lean enterprise principles and practices.
- Quick learner with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
