HR Senior Generalist

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

We are currently hiring for the position of HR Senior Generalist located in Baton Rouge, LA. Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

General Overview

As the lead HR professional in our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping our future. This is a strategic and hands-on position that offers a unique opportunity to rebuild and influence our workplace culture. You will establish the foundation for HR practices that foster a community of service, leading by example and inspiring others to join our mission.

The HR Senior Generalist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all HR functions within our organization. This includes talent acquisition, management, and development; compensation and benefits administration; employee relations; ensuring legal compliance; and aligning our talent strategy with our mission and vision. You will report directly to the President & CEO and currently have no direct reports.

Essential Duties

  • Lead talent acquisition and management efforts, ensuring the right individuals join and thrive within our organization.
  • Promote our organizational values through actions and policies, enhancing our employee relations and overall culture.
  • Architect and implement compensation and benefits programs that reflect our commitment to our staff.
  • Maintain legal compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring our operations align with moral and legal obligations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of two years of HR experience, with preference given to those with SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certifications.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or a related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms is required.
  • We seek candidates with a strong passion for service and the greater good, and the ability to inspire, lead, and mentor others.
  • Successful candidates will be strategic thinkers who can also execute hands-on HR tasks independently.
  • Prior experience in HR, particularly in building or enhancing positive workplace cultures, is highly desired.
  • Excellent empathy skills to effectively address a variety of complex employee needs.
  • Ability to work independently and think critically.
