Senior Architectural Project Manager

Location: Albany, NY

A company is seeking a Senior Architectural Project Manager for a position in Albany. This role is perfect for a Licensed Architect or Engineer with over 10 years of experience who excels in leading projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing one or multiple projects, ensuring they stay within budget, adhere to schedules, and meet design standards while transforming initial design concepts into construction documents.

This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing for remote work during parts of the workweek.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:

    • Plan, organize, and guide project teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Promote collaboration among project designers, architects, and other team members.
    • Provide technical guidance and effectively resolve complex issues.
  • Project Management:

    • Supervise all project phases, ensuring they align with budgets, schedules, and design intent.
    • Conduct on-site design development and contract document sessions.
    • Ensure compliance with client contracts, building codes, and ADA regulations.
    • Incorporate sustainable design solutions into project execution.
  • Client and Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
    • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and sub-consultants to address technical issues and project details.
    • Identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Budget and Schedule Oversight:

    • Create project schedules and communicate key deliverables to the team.
    • Monitor fees and labor costs to ensure compliance with contract terms.
    • Oversee the financial outcomes of assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must be a Licensed Architect or Engineer.
  • Experience:
    • Must have at least 10 years of experience managing architectural or engineering projects, including post-occupancy phases.
    • Experience with K-12 and higher education projects is a bonus.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Thorough understanding of design trends, construction methodologies, materials, and sustainability practices.
    • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Newforma (preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong conflict resolution and leadership abilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be available for overtime work when necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform site observations, including in varying weather conditions and high-construction areas.
  • Background check may be required.
  • Must use hardhat, construction boots, and other safety equipment on-site.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or Engineering.
