Lead Planner
Job Summary
The Lead Planner is responsible for managing construction schedules using Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProjects, coordinating client reporting, overseeing resource needs, and providing schedule updates, including three-week look-aheads. Responsibilities include schedule analysis, progress reports, and Time Impact Analyses (TIA).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and monitor project schedules for efficient execution.
- Prepare baseline schedules and assess critical path impacts.
- Track variances, propose corrective actions, and report progress.
- Ensure schedule accuracy and document changes.
- Review subcontractor schedules and validate logic/float paths.
- Collaborate with teams to sequence work and meet milestones.
- Analyze change order impacts and resource-load schedules.
- Conduct site visits, facilitate scheduling meetings, and mentor planners.
- Document lessons learned at project closeout.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience scheduling heavy/highway construction projects (bridges, underground, etc.).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (required) or ASTA PowerProjects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management (preferred).
- Field experience (preferred).
