We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee a dynamic and fast-paced 90,000-square-foot food distribution center located in La Grange, IL. What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring compliance with cold chain regulations and maintaining food safety standards for refrigerated and frozen zones
- Build, mentor, and retain a strong warehouse team by prioritizing training, safety, and performance
- Develop and enhance systems for inventory control, inbound/outbound logistics, and order fulfillment
- Optimize warehouse design and layout to maximize space utilization and efficiency
- Implement Lean tools to address bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve turnaround times
- Maintain DOT compliance, oversee fleet maintenance, and assist with logistics procurement
- Collaborate with company leadership to establish and track KPIs, labor metrics, and strategic objectives
- Work with quality teams to uphold HACCP protocols and adhere to food safety regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales management, or a related field (preferred) OR 7+ years of experience in sales leadership within the meat or perishable food distribution industry
- Prior exposure to refrigerated and frozen distribution operations is mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to motivate warehouse teams, improve retention, and cultivate a strong operational culture
- Familiarity with WMS, ERP, TMS, and Microsoft Office; experience with modern warehouse automation is a bonus
- A problem-solving mindset and a willingness to take a hands-on approach
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and develop future leaders
