Small Group Account Manager
Job Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Manage a diverse clientele across various industries, overseeing an assigned book of business. This includes accounts that may be fully insured, partially self-funded, self-insured, or captive. Collaborate within a team to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve problems, and retain clients. Additionally, provide support to agents in sales and service.
Accounts: 25 accounts with 25-300 lives (mostly 50+)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Onboard new clients
- Address inquiries from clients and carriers
- Complete RFPs and request census
- Initiate vendor renewal request with Service Representative and negotiate all renewal rate relief with agent
- Prepare Open Enrollment guides, checklists, forms, summaries, presentations, brainsharks, and webinars
- Communicate group enrollment process with Service Representatives, providing necessary materials
- Conduct OE meetings, health fairs, and webinars
- Participate in pre-renewal, renewal, and post-renewal meetings
- Educate clients on compliance and provide consultative support
- Travel to client sites as required
Additional Responsibilities
- Keep agents updated on client activity, issues, and business development opportunities
- Build relationships with client contacts and recommend plan changes, address claims issues, and explore renewal options
- Acquire proficiency in new software programs as needed
- Attend all scheduled team and staff meetings
- Participate in educational and product seminars
- Contribute to special projects as required
- Travel overnight for client meetings, conferences, etc., as necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
- High School degree and 3-5 years of related experience
- Preferred experience in the insurance industry or as a TPA
- Active Life and Health license or obtain within 90 days of employment
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Experience with Brokerage Builder / ZyWave software
- Familiarity with office equipment such as fax, copier, scanner, printer, and cell phone
