Our client, a reputable manufacturing company experiencing growth, is in search of a meticulous and reliable Senior Accounting Analyst to join their finance team. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining precise financial records, assisting with monthly closing activities, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
The ideal candidate should possess a robust knowledge of basic accounting principles, relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments such as operations, procurement, and inventory management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Aid in month-end and year-end closing procedures, which includes creating journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and managing accruals
- Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial data
- Prepare and analyze financial statements like income statements and balance sheets
- Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts in close collaboration with plant operations and supply chain departments
- Support fixed asset monitoring and depreciation schedules
- Contribute to the development of standard costs and variance analysis of costs
- Ensure internal accounting controls are complied with and aid in external audit requirements
- Generate on-demand financial reports and provide insights for informed business decisions
- Work alongside accounts payable and receivable teams as needed to resolve discrepancies and uphold accuracy
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by offering pertinent financial data and historical perspectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a must
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, with preference for a background in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Previous experience in inventory accounting and cost accounting is highly desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, NetSuite, etc.) is a bonus
- Keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and capability to handle multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills with a collaborative approach
