Senior Casting Procurement Specialist

Location: Seneca, SC

The Senior Buyer is responsible for independently managing procurement activities related to company raw materials, capital equipment, tooling, and other necessary items. They will adhere to established company and departmental objectives, policies, and procedures in carrying out these responsibilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate purchasing activities to achieve optimal quality, delivery, price, and terms objectives.
  • Research and gather accurate information to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of purchasing information systems.
  • Establish effective supplier sourcing arrangements through negotiation, analysis, evaluation, and judgment.
  • Participate in internal and cross-functional teams as required.
  • Contribute to cost reduction activities and projects.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including logistics.
  • Initiate and manage purchase orders and related communications with vendors.
  • Resolve vendor quality problems through investigation and collaboration.
  • Evaluate proposed samples and communicate findings to relevant contacts.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications necessary for the role.
  • Guide Purchasing staff as directed to ensure efficiency.
  • Expeditiously manage vendor tasks to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Report significant developments to Purchasing Superiors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve issues.
  • Occasionally travel to visit suppliers' facilities.
  • Promote a safe workplace by following all rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional movement within the office and shop floor to access files and equipment
  • Ability to remain stationary for the majority of the time
  • Occasional travel required
  • Capability to lift small boxes weighing up to 20 pounds

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Purchasing, or a related field, with preference for D365 ERP experience and casting purchasing experience
  • Additional certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related field, or a Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, preferred
