Position Summary:
The Senior Automation Engineer is accountable for leading, delivering, developing, and implementing automation projects. They are responsible for designing and specifying DCS/Logic Solver PLC components and networking requirements, developing functional narratives and system specifications, and other related documents. The Senior Automation Engineer also participates in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for control system-related issues.
Education:
Required: BS in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Desired: Registration as a Professional Engineer.

- Takes technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
- Performs specialized technical work, including development of systems engineering, distributive and/or computer controls of processes.
- Establishes basic design and specifications for control systems and associated instrumentation.
- Implement control concepts as required.
- Keeps the Project Leads/Manager informed of scope changes and design deviations.
- Participates in overall control system design work, including installation drawings and details, loops drawings, logic diagrams, and vendor drawings.
- DCS:
- DCS graphics, database, and configuration (Honeywell preferred, plus others)
- Familiarity with P&IDs, Logic Diagrams, Cause / Effect matrices, and Functional Narratives
- Test procedure development
- Cutovers/loop checks
- Startup assistance/troubleshooting
- Operations/maintenance training
- PLC / HMI Programming:
- PLC programming (Allen Bradley CLX and PLC5 preferred, plus others)
- HMI programming (PanelView and RSView preferred, plus others)
- Familiarity with P&IDs, Logic Diagrams, Cause / Effect matrices, and Functional Narratives
- Test procedure development
- Cutovers/loop checks
- Startup assistance/troubleshooting
- Operations/maintenance training
- Safety System Logic Solvers
- Logic Solver programming (Triconex Platform preferred, plus others)
- Logic Validation Software programming (Schneider Safety Validator preferred, plus others)
- Familiarity with P&ID's, Logic Diagrams, Cause / Effect matrices, and Functional Narratives
- Test procedure development
- Cutovers/loop checks
- Startup assistance/troubleshooting
- Operations/maintenance training
