We are currently seeking a Senior Designer to join our team in Sugar Land, TX.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the design of Instrument & Control Systems for Oil & Gas Refineries and Chemical Plants.
  • Utilize software such as 2D AutoCAD, Excel, MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access.
  • Review and mark up P&IDs, interlock schematics, and motor schematics.
  • Create wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, demo packages, and I/O loading documentation.
  • Design Junction Boxes, Marshalling Panels, and DCS/PLC Cabinets with Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Produce instrument installation details and generate material take-offs for cost estimates.
  • Develop conduit and cable tray drawings, including support details and sizing calculations.
  • Provide low-voltage electrical design for instruments, instrument power panels, grounding, and bonding according to NEC standards.
  • Conduct field surveys and assist with hot/cold cutovers.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety policies, industry codes, and client standards.
  • Work independently while effectively collaborating with team members and clients.

Requirements

Required:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in Instrument & Control System Design for Oil & Gas and Chemical industries.
  • High proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation design, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Ability to work in field environments and participate in cutover planning/execution.
  • Experience with fiber routing and general fiber optic knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.

Preferred:

  • Experience with MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access.
  • Familiarity with NEC codes and general electrical design.
