Senior Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer

Salary: $165,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled Senior Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer with a strong ability to perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation. Must have flexibility in scheduling, the ability to rotate to other sites, work shifts of varying durations (8, 10, or 12 hours), and provide coverage for weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. This role requires the flexibility to orient and work at all Medical Center locations and variable shifts as per department needs.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from requesting physicians and/or service before conducting the examination.
- Prepare the patient for imaging.
- Prepare the room and equipment before and after conducting the exam.
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions while performing self-critiques of exams.
- Meet the physical requirements to perform diagnostic sonography studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Maintain RDMS credentials according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school
- Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.
- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
- BLS - Basic Life Support.
- Requires (2-5) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department. New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.
- Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria
QUALIFICATIONS
- ARDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.
- Previous ultrasound experience
- BLS Certification
- Graduated from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program?
- (2-5) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or equivalent exp
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
PREFERRED
- Pediatrics experience
- Hospital experience?
- Ultrasound experience in OB exp, thyroid, transplant kidney liver.
IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Ultrasound in areas: OB exp, thyroid, transplant and kidney liver, pancreas, sterile procedures.
