Main Responsibilities:
- Oversees all aspects of production and supply, providing leadership to plant managers across multiple sites.
- Overall responsibility for Production, Maintenance, Scheduling, Sanitation, and Warehouse Operations.
- Also responsible for Safety, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and other related areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements manufacturing programs to improve the operations' competitive position and profitability.
- Ensures safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and people standards are consistently met in manufacturing plants.
- Promotes the development of people and leadership continuity.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, positive engagement, and employee empowerment.
- Leads continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Drives a strong and healthy safety culture.
- Ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Monitors and reports on operating costs relative to budget.
- Partners with Plant Managers and Human Resources to enhance teamwork and develop leaders.
- Identifies, monitors, and improves key performance indicators.
- Communicates significant challenges or failures to the Vice President of Operations.
- Leads TPM strategies to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Develops and implements strategies to drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
- Prepares annual manufacturing budget and leads cost improvement initiatives.
- Provides leadership to product planning and materials activities.
- Supports Warehouse and Distribution activities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Provides leadership to Quality Assurance activities.
- Ensures site compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Verifies compliance with GMPs and Safety standards.
- Provides strategic guidance through leadership of strategic planning sessions.
- Participates in new product development and planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a production facility, with at least 5 years leading a facility.
- Experience in food baking manufacturing preferred.
- Multi-site leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient use of a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
- Working knowledge of and implementation/maintenance of SQF Level III Certification.
- Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes within baking operations.
- Strong background in HACCP, safety, GMPs, and AIB.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to develop interdepartmental relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Coaching skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers.
- Ability to work with multiple departments including Cost Accounting, Purchasing, R & D, Supply Chain, HR, EH&S, Quality Assurance, and Information Services.
