Senior District Operations Manager - Transportation and Collection

This role is responsible for overseeing the daily collection operations at a single site with multiple Lines of Business. The Senior District Operations Manager establishes and maintains performance and productivity metrics, as well as cost management processes. Additionally, this role has P&L responsibility and will directly supervise Route Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations in the District, providing support to drivers to ensure safety, service, and cost savings.
- Implement necessary precautions to maintain compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations, ensuring safety at all times.
- Conduct thorough investigations for injuries and incidents, providing consistent coaching and retraining as necessary.
- Oversee personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees, as well as evaluating their performance. Make decisions regarding termination, compensation, and promotion.
- Develop short-term and long-term goals and action plans in collaboration with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Collection Operations.
- Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure budget adherence. Develop and implement programs to optimize equipment utilization, maintenance, and labor and material costs.
- Build positive relationships with local city, municipal, and county agencies to enhance customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, secure contract renewals, and negotiate new contracts.
Requirements:
Education: Associate's Degree, High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record throughout employment.
Experience in at least 2 of the following areas: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resource functions. Previous supervisory or managerial experience is required. Experience with implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications, preparing and managing budgets, and resolving labor relations issues is also necessary.

We are seeking candidates with experience in industries such as Telecom, Rail, Mining, Quarry, or Oil & Gas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing people and budgets, with a strong focus on P&L. Budgets for this role range from $150 million to $250 million, depending on the site. This person will also be involved in community outreach efforts to promote our company and grow the site's business.
