Sr. Maintenance Supervisor

The Senior Maintenance Supervisor position in Dallas, TX is responsible for effectively managing the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of plant processes, equipment, and facility upkeep. With a collaborative approach and commitment to our mission, this role works across all shifts and departments (Utilities, Production, Planning, Safety) to ensure consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce HACCP, USDA, and food safety protocols. Additionally, this position offers growth opportunities to our team members. Supervisory Responsibility: The Sr. Maintenance Supervisor oversees 10-20 Maintenance team members at our TX facility. Reports to: Maintenance & Utilities Manager

Essential Functions: The Sr. Maintenance Supervisor leads and manages the activities of Maintenance teams and Apprentices, including tracking team performance, planned repairs/projects, and preventative maintenance. They ensure prompt response to line breakdowns, investigate and analyze work order challenges, and implement actions to prevent future breakdowns. Safety is a top priority, promoting teamwork, resolving issues, maintaining personal development through training, and maximizing team member job performance while adhering to safety procedures and policies. The Sr. Maintenance Supervisor also assists with new projects by providing cost estimates, scope of work, warranties, and monthly progress reports. They ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, including safety, GMP's, SOP's, SSOP's, HACCP, and SQF. The Sr. Maintenance Supervisor is also a member of the HACCP Team and provides back-up support to the Maintenance/Utilities Manager and Supervisors.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

- Seven or more years' experience in an Industrial Mechanics/related position OR an Industrial Mechanics' degree/equivalent technical diploma and 5 years plant maintenance experience.

- Five years in a leadership and/or project management role.

- Strong interpersonal skills, including professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach, and the ability to remain composed and make decisions in stressful situations.

- After one year, must achieve operator 1 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center.

- After 3 years, must achieve operator 2 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center.

- After 5 years, may be required to fill in for Utilities Supervision as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in food manufacturing facilities, especially poultry.

- Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety (SQF).

- Strong knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Work Environment: The primary work environment is an office setting, although there may be a need to work in various temperature conditions (-40-degree Freezers, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree production area, wet cold environment). The work environment may also involve noise, slippery floors, and moving equipment in an operations setting.

Physical Demands: This position requires extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual acuity, quick response to sounds, and driving.

Position Type: This is an exempt role and may require schedule changes and work during 'off-shifts'.

Travel: Some travel (less than 5%) may be required to assist in other facilities.
