Senior Industrial Engineer

Location: Sanborn, NY

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Design and implement manufacturing processes and estimated timelines for precision components, ensuring smooth workflow in the production area.
  • Assist sales team in quoting new parts by providing support in determining necessary materials, material costs, subcontracting costs, manufacturing processes, and timelines.
  • Develop new process documentation and maintain existing procedures.
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing group, focusing on improving and optimizing existing processes and estimating completion times.
  • Cultivate strong relationships between manufacturing and other departments to effectively meet company goals.
  • Address technical issues related to processes through direct communication with supervisors, leadmen, engineering, and sales.
  • Document and modify material and subcontract processes.
  • Provide support in inventory management and work order scheduling.
  • Assist in documentation control, ensuring accurate and complete cut lists, engineering drawings, flat layouts, detail drawings, and quality checklists.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance delivery, quality, cost, and company goals.
  • Input corrective actions into Epicor system.
  • Finalize job travelers with leadman, verifying correct processes and materials, and arranging for necessary material procurement from purchasing.
  • Review and update jobs/parts as needed, including processes, materials, and revision levels.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is included with job prior to release to the shop floor.
  • Print travelers for leadman upon request or as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and work rules.

Other Duties

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in training and special projects as requested by supervisor.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering technical drawings, tolerancing, and GD&T.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturability for a range of materials, including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Tool Steels, and Plastics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various machining and fabrication processes, as well as electro-mechanical assembly.

· Comprehensive understanding of types of tooling and machinery, their appropriate applications, and correct usage is preferred.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • OR vocational or technical training with at least 10 years of applied experience
