Senior Vehicle Design Engineer

Summary: An established and well-known international company is seeking a Senior Vehicle Design Engineer for their facilities in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing vehicle design projects. They will also work on improving raw material extraction and usage, developing new materials to enhance product performance, and analyzing the environmental and user impact of their designs. The role will also involve diagnosing breakdowns, testing products, and estimating project timelines and costs. Job Responsibilities: The Senior Vehicle Design Engineer will specialize in repairing and maintaining precision instruments and processes that require exceptional attention to detail. They will create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using Siemens NX software for vehicle sub-assemblies and installations. They will also prepare engineering release documentation, participate in cross-functional teams, and ensure the timely and cost-effective development of high-quality products.

Education / Experience: Other Required Skills: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field. They should possess a comprehensive understanding of the entire product development life cycle and have experience in sheet metal, plastic, and casting design. Familiarity with FEA is desired. Preferred Skills: The candidate should have strong planning abilities, be adept at developing countermeasure plans for technical challenges, and ideally have project management experience. Additional Requirements: Proficiency in CAD modeling and hand sketching in 3D space is required. The primary domain for this role is product development. Candidates must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S.A. without sponsorship.
