Senior Automotive Mechanical Design Engineer
Summary: Our company, an internationally recognized brand, is seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a design engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative solutions to extract, process, and utilize raw materials, as well as developing new materials to enhance product performance and leverage technological advancements. You will also analyze the environmental and user impacts of your designs, troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct product testing, and estimate project time and cost. This is a direct hire position with excellent benefits, including 2% profit sharing, quarterly bonuses, and relocation assistance.
Job Responsibilities: The role involves repairing and maintaining precision instruments or processes that require exceptional skill and attention to detail. You will specialize in a specific craft or occupation and use Siemens NX to create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for vehicle sub-assemblies and installations. Additionally, you will prepare engineering release documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
Education / Experience: Other Required Skills: To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field. You should possess end-to-end product development experience, including sketching and production. Experience in sheet metal, plastic, stamping, casting, or forging design is desired, as well as familiarity with FEA. The ability to visualize and plan multiple technical assignments in advance and develop countermeasure plans for challenges is preferred. Project management experience and proficiency in CAD modeling and hand sketching in 3D space are also advantageous. You must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S.A. without sponsorship.
