Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN

My client, a globally recognized Manufacturer with over $900MM in worldwide revenue, is a leading company in the carbon and graphite products industry. The company's expanding facility in Nashville, TN is currently in need of a Facilities Manager / Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee ongoing capital equipment projects aimed at upgrading the entire plant.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Some projects involve the U.S. Defense Department and compliance with ITAR Rules is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Engineering degrees in other disciplines will be considered, but strong mechanical engineering skills are crucial for this role.
  • 10 – 20 years of engineering experience is required.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in managing capital projects ($5 - $10 million) is necessary. Demonstrated experience in tracking capital projects and successfully executing Design – RFQ – Execution phases is needed.
  • Proven ability to supervise engineers and project managers.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiation.
  • Experience in commercial project management.
  • Ability to interpret detailed schematics, drawings, and specifications for equipment and utilities (P&ID and equipment drawings).
  • Effective troubleshooting skills, including training in root cause analysis.
  • A participative management approach in problem-solving, project implementation, and achieving continuous improvement objectives.
  • Experience in plant or facility maintenance support, work order management, and maintenance systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with plant maintenance systems such as boilers and power distribution is a plus.
COMPENSATION: A base salary of $100K to $125K plus potential annual bonuses of up to 15%.
