Salary: $170,000 to $195,000

We are currently hiring a Senior Director of Logistics and Distribution for our Oakland, CA location. As the Senior Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our collection sites, manage performance metrics and cost management processes, and be accountable for P&L. Additionally, you will have a team of Route Managers reporting directly to you.

Job Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the district, providing support to drivers in ensuring safety, service, and savings.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into injuries and incidents, providing coaching and retraining as needed.
  • Manage department personnel, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, and training employees.
  • Develop short-term and long-term goals and action plans in collaboration with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Collection Operations.
  • Participate in P&L reviews, implement programs for optimal equipment utilization and cost management, and liaise with local agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewals.

Education:
Associate's Degree, High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant work experience.
Experience: 2 years in a role with supervisory and/or P&L responsibility (in addition to education requirement).

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record throughout employment

Candidates should have experience in at least 2 of the following areas: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resource functions, and supervision or management. Strong knowledge of safety (OSHA) programs, budgeting, and labor relations is also required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing day-to-day collection operations at a single site with multiple Lines of Business
  • Establishing and maintaining performance metrics, productivity, and cost management processes
  • Overseeing P&L with direct reports from Route Managers
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in managing people and budgets, including P&L responsibility
  • Budget management ranging from $100 million to $250 million
  • Background in industries such as Telecom, Rail, Mining, Quarry, or Oil & Gas, with involvement in community outreach
