Sr. Production Engineer (Mechanical)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

A recognized global company is seeking a skilled Sr. Production Engineer for their expansive manufacturing facility located near the eastern outskirts of Atlanta. This role involves identifying and executing enhancements to current production processes, systems, and practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient manufacturing methods that align with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, this position includes overseeing the launch of new or updated products. Competitive benefits, 401K matching, and the potential for annual bonuses ranging from 2-5% are included.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Identify issues, strategize, and implement improvements for existing product and manufacturing process challenges.
  2. Establish and maintain a comprehensive quality system for both new and current programs, including PFMEA, control plan, process flow, work instructions, and inspection documents.
  3. Conduct research, development, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment to meet specified requirements.
  4. Lead the manufacturing launch for new/revised products, including goal setting, team training, and performance evaluation.
  5. Provide input for product design following design for assembly/design for manufacture principles.
  6. Conduct cost-benefit analysis to drive product and manufacturing process cost reduction, enhance quality, and improve efficiency.
  7. Lead or engage in Kaizen activities to facilitate ongoing enhancement in manufacturing processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.
  8. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of facility floor space, equipment, and tooling.
  9. Execute routine tasks accurately and promptly according to instructions and procedures.
  10. Train Production and Maintenance Associates to enhance technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities on the production floor.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience. Preference is given to candidates with experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
  2. Proficient in reading, interpreting, and creating blueprints and technical documentation.
  3. Skilled in 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, and 2D CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
  4. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with high-volume CNC Machining, automated assembly, and/or plastic injection molding processes.
  5. Strong troubleshooting skills, demonstrating creativity and innovation in problem-solving and implementing solutions.
  6. Experience in calculating and analyzing OEE, scrap, and manufacturing capacity.
  7. Experience managing capital equipment projects and new product launches while adhering to APQP and ISO 9001 and/or TS 16949 standards.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  1. Quickly grasp fundamental knowledge of the company, products, manufacturing processes, and policies.
