Primary Function

The Senior Project Engineer has the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of project assignments, using the assigned project management system to achieve project objectives. Working with a team, the incumbent will be involved in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of project assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor moderate-level, full project development for product design related to mechanical and manufacturing aspects.
  • Perform advanced engineering tasks with limited supervision.
  • Mentor and lead the engineering design team in development projects, from initial concept to successful completion.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles within a specific field of specialization.
  • Participate in Project Identification meetings with marketing and management to define project specifications and scope.
  • Create systems and documentation for specific programs to ensure compliance with contractual and program quality requirements.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status within and beyond the team.
  • Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinate activities to resolve technical issues, scheduling conflicts, and design test problems.
  • Evaluate and implement design changes and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Staff to provide input based on individual expertise.
  • Prepare project expense estimates and control expenditures.
  • Perform other necessary activities as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in gas appliance design, testing, or combustion engineering is required.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including senior management.
  • Proficiency in computer tools, including CAE and MSOffice.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
