Senior Tax Analyst
Location: Plainview, NY
Our client is a Certified Public Accountant based in Long Island. They specialize in accounting, auditing, and tax estate planning. As they prepare for the 2025 tax season, they are seeking a skilled tax professional to join their team. This full-time position is based in Plainview, NY and requires occasional client visits.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 3 to 5+ years of experience in public accounting and leading multiple engagements
- Preferred or required CPA certification with a diversified tax background
- Working knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and QuickBooks
- Ability to work well in a team and possess leadership and staff development skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with effective communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Responsible for handling complex tax returns including 1040's, 1041's, 1120's, and 1065's
- In-depth knowledge of Estate and Trusts
- Experience in financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, including estates, gifting, and IRA
- Responsible for assisting in the preparation and review of financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns. Exposure to clients from diverse industries
- Maintain client relationships and act as a liaison between internal staff and leaders to deliver high-quality work to clients
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly projections for individuals, Trusts, and gift tax returns
- Handle individual tax compliance forms and collaborate with an individual tax team
- Review federal and state tax returns and provide feedback, training, and mentorship to staff and interns
- Review tax information provided by clients and address any open items
- Identify tax planning opportunities related to cross-border transactions and activities
- Assist in planning, coordinating tax work, and finalizing projects
The salary for this position is between 110K - 135K, with the opportunity for a bonus and comprehensive benefits package
