Retail Manager
Location: Orland Park, IL
Responsibilities
- Achieve personal selling and client engagement goals
- Oversee all activities necessary to achieve store objectives, including financial targets, client service, human resources management, operational controls, payroll, and operating expenses while enhancing associate and client engagement
- Supervise the arrangement of merchandise on counters or tables for effective sales promotion
- Manage the gallery and its team members in a professional and inclusive manner, adhering to Human Resource standards outlined in company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
- Directly supervise part-time sales employees, conducting performance discussions, setting clear objectives, and holding associates accountable to goals
- Coordinate and execute various events to achieve financial goals, including Owner's Classes, clubs, demos, Creative Classes, and freelance educator events
- Provide excellent customer service and innovate to attract and retain customers, demonstrating the ability to serve as a role model and prioritize client satisfaction
- Recruit, select, develop, and retain a full store team, ensuring individual accountability for performance
Qualifications
- Creative and passionate with a willingness to share sewing expertise with customers
- High School diploma or equivalent. Business or Fashion Design/Merchandising degree is a plus!
- At least one year of successful retail experience with a track record of closing sales. Ability to forecast and analyze business trends, and effectively manage payroll expense
- Thorough knowledge of our machines and products
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment
- Effective communication skills through multiple forms of technology, including telephone and computer
- Capable of occasional movement within the office and lifting of products like sewing machines weighing up to 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
