Structural Engineer - Raleigh's Coolest Position

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer with Mid-High Rise Building Design Experience to join our team in Raleigh. Responsibilities

• Operate in Responsible Charge for the engineering of multistory structures of varying degrees of complexity
• Direct the efforts of other engineers to perform and deliver specific engineering deliverables
• Review work performed by other engineers
• Seal reports, calculations, and plans
• Serve as Engineer of Record for design-build projects
• Coordinate structural design with other disciplines and internal teams
• Prepare Structural Narratives, Schematic Designs, and Construction Documents
• Perform detailed structural analysis using 2D and 3D models
• Create models and drawings using Revit
• Perform Construction Administration duties
• Evaluate work that may be out of specification and develop remediations
• Perform design assist and value engineering reviews
• Evaluate structures for temporary loads and conditions
• Prepare and seal necessary analysis, calculations, plans, and reports
• Perform quality control reviews of documentation prepared by other engineers
• Develop work plans and provide supervision and mentorship to staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 10+ years of engineering & design experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain Professional Engineering Licensure within 6 months of hire
• Expertise designing to the requirements of industry specifications
• Expertise in the analysis and design of multi-story structures
• Experience with various construction materials and building types
• Solid engineering judgment and reasoning
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills
• Willingness to travel, as required
