Nuclear Power Plant Structural Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA
We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with experience in Nuclear or Power Plant Design for our Atlanta Office.
- Work on various nuclear projects involving the design of steel and concrete structures.
- Focused on repairing, rehabilitating, and restoring existing buildings.
- Perform site investigations to assess current conditions and gather necessary documentation.
- Manage the construction phase of projects, including assisting with bids, reviewing submittals, attending site meetings, and observing completed work.
- Act as a Project Manager for a range of tasks, such as assessing existing buildings, designing repair measures, modifying structural components, investigating failures, and preparing technical reports.
- Maintain direct communication with clients for assigned work.
- Engage in professional activities to enhance recognition in the field.
- Publish articles and papers and deliver technical presentations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame structures within the Power Industry.
- A Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering License (PE or SE) is required.
- Proficiency in writing and editing project specifications, technical reports, field reports, project correspondence, and proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage project budgets.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in computer analysis software, such as ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE, etc.
- Willingness to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and a valid Motor Vehicle Report, if applicable.
