Job Title: MEP Construction Superintendent
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent for our construction project in Atlanta, GA. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring safety, managing schedules, maintaining quality of work, and staying within budget. This position requires exceptional leadership and communication skills and the ability to mentor junior team members.
Primary Duties:
- Coordinate and oversee work of subcontractors, inspectors, and site personnel
- Schedule and supervise activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors
- Plan and manage onsite manpower and personnel needs
- Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and risk management protocols
- Oversee equipment procurement and usage on the project site
- Supervise weekly work activities for trade crews
- Utilize project documents, specifications, and drawings
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan
- Create scopes of work for trades
- Review constructability and progress against plans
- Manage project close-out and punch list items
- Lead meetings to coordinate work and participate in owners’ meetings
- Develop and manage project schedule
- Review quantity takeoffs and ensure materials management
- Track project phase completion against milestones
- Demonstrate company values and principles
- Follow company code of conduct and safety procedures
- Report incidents and hazards to management
- Ensure personal protective equipment is worn and maintained
- Participate in workplace inspections and required training
- Contribute to improving safety practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Minimum of six years’ experience in the industry
- Experience managing projects valued over $1MM
- Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, and financial principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
