This position is responsible for overseeing supply chain operations throughout North and South America, with global collaboration. The Logistics Coordinator will be in charge of coordinating various aspects of the shipping process, ensuring smooth communication and coordination between internal departments, customers, and external partners. Duties will include tracking shipments, working with customs agents for international deliveries, and optimizing inventory management across warehouses and manufacturing facilities in the USA, with a focus on prioritizing strategies such as FIFO (First In, First Out).
· Supervise and manage the shipping processes, customs clearance, and ensure timely delivery to final destinations.
· Maintain accurate documentation and communicate any deviations in delivery schedules as necessary.
· Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including customers, authorities, and internal teams.
· Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding logistics.
· Provide proactive advice and regular status updates on import/export and domestic shipments.
· Monitor and optimize cost and freight margins, ensuring accurate invoicing to customers.
· Validate the accuracy of received freight invoices and maintain up-to-date freight costs in transport records.
· Implement forecasting and tracking tools for inventory management, ensuring adherence to FIFO principles.
· Maintain safety stock levels in accordance with company fiduciary requirements.
· Bachelor's Degree in transportation, logistics, international business, or a related field.
· Proficiency in logistics processes, including a solid understanding of different transportation modes, Incoterms, and necessary documentation.
· Familiarity with FIFO strategies and inventory management principles.
· Knowledge of import/export requirements, including HS codes and customs clearance procedures.
· Understanding of standard regulations governing domestic and international protocols.
· Experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with others.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
· Demonstrated drive and commitment to achieving objectives.
· Proficiency in English (both oral and written); fluency in Spanish is a plus.
