What they are looking for:
  • Associates and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Preferred 5 years of previous Surgical Services experience and a couple years of management experience in an acute care setting.
  • Must hold a current RN License in Iowa at the time of hire, as well as current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.

Hours and compensation potential:
  • This is a full-time position.
  • The salary range is between $95K and $135K.
  • The facility offers a comprehensive benefits package and includes a relocation/sign-on bonus.

What you’ll be doing:
  • The Director of Surgical Services is a registered professional nurse who assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the overall operations of the Surgical Services department.
  • Responsible for staff selection and implementation of the service structure, while maintaining a patient-centered culture within the hospital.
  • Manages multiple aspects within the patient care environment, oversees and maintains clinical standards of care, and ensures appropriate staffing resources for quality patient care.
  • Participates in or chairs committees, work groups, and meetings as necessary.
  • Provides organizational leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of services consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
  • Develops annual budgets for surgical services, including revenue, personnel, operations, and capital expenses, with well-reasoned rationale, justification, and recommendations.
