Overview:
As a member of the surgical team, you will contribute to the intra-operative phase of surgical or obstetrical procedures. Your knowledge of instruments and equipment will help ensure the best possible outcomes for each patient.
Responsibilities:
Thoroughly decontaminate instruments and/or scopes, re-sterilize them, and maintain a log of activity.
Keep the equipment coordinator and/or manager informed of any issues or potential problems with the various operating room equipment.
Support the maintenance of accurate preference cards through effective communication with the surgery team.
Show proficient knowledge and skills, and willingly accept an on-call schedule as required by staffing levels.
Demonstrate the ability to reduce procedure costs by only using necessary supplies.
Be able to respond to the hospital within 30 minutes.
Serve on the department specialty focus team and assume responsibility for assigned areas.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Must have current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.
Current ACLS certification required or obtainable within 1 year of hire.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position with a schedule from 7am to 3:30pm. On-call duty is required once a week and one weekend shift per month. Candidates must reside within 30 miles of the facility.
The hospital offers an hourly pay range of $21 to $30, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Deductibles start as low as $250 for individuals and $500 for families, with 100% coverage at the facility. The retirement plan offers a 3% match when the person contributes 3% and an additional 1.5% for a total of 7.5% after 1000 hours worked.
