Tax Accountant

Location: Carnegie, PA

Our client is a single-family High Wealth Family office located in Carnegie, PA. They offer integrated financial and investment services to 18 households in the family's second through fifth generations. In addition, they provide consulting, tax, and accounting services to external clients as well.

The primary focus of this position is tax compliance and planning, particularly related to the family office's technology systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and enhancing our current technology systems across tax, accounting, and financial/investment reporting services. This role reports directly to the family office's treasurer and collaborates closely with all staff members.

The position is exempt and offers comprehensive company-paid medical, vision, and dental benefits, as well as a generous 401(k) match and discretionary contribution. Additionally, it includes three weeks of paid vacation (which increases with tenure) and a flexible/hybrid work environment after completing the onboarding process at our centrally located Greentree, PA office.

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax compliance and planning

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and other entities
  • Manage and maintain tax basis schedules
  • Analyze and respond to IRS and state tax notices
  • Calculate annual tax distributions for family limited partnerships
  • Cross-train with investment data analyst to improve investment reporting processes
  • Assist in the preparation and automation of various schedules for Board of Directors and client meetings
  • Provide high-level service to family members and clients through direct interaction
  • Support the onboarding of new tax and accounting clients
