Our well-established global law firm is in need of a skilled Tax Specialist to join our Tax Practice Group in New York, NY. We are seeking a lawyer with exceptional academic qualifications and expertise in advising on intricate corporate, partnership, and international tax issues. The ideal candidate will be involved in complex transactions for Fortune 500 companies, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals, offering strategic tax guidance in a dynamic and team-oriented atmosphere.

The role is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week at our Mid-Town, Manhattan office.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide tax structuring and advisory services for high-value corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Offer counsel on tax implications of private equity and hedge fund operations.
• Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, client alerts, and tax opinions.
• Support clients in tax dispute matters, including IRS audits and appeals.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various practice areas on multidisciplinary projects.
• Analyze and advise on international tax issues, including cross-border transactions and compliance.
• Keep abreast of legislative tax updates and communicate changes internally and to clients.

Main Qualifications:

• J.D. from a top law school and admitted to the New York state bar.
• LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required.
• 2–4 years of experience at a reputable law firm or tax boutique.
• Strong background in corporate, partnership, and international tax law.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Aptitude for working in a client-focused, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with fund formation and investment management tax matters.
• Knowledge of M&A tax due diligence and structuring post-transaction.
• Exposure to tax-exempt entities and not-for-profit structuring.
• Background in tax controversy and litigation support.

Compensation and Application Process:

• Salary range: $250,000 - $360,000 plus benefits, based on experience.
