Tax Supervisor

Location: Wheeling, WV

We are currently seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our team in Wheeling, WV. As a Tax Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to manage our staff, client assignments, and projects to ensure the delivery of high-quality service. Additionally, you will assist in overseeing office operations and staff, client service activities, quality, reporting, production revenue budget and forecasting, and maximizing performance. This includes coaching, advising, and supporting team members to meet client and self-development expectations while following and enforcing all firm and staff policies and procedures.

Supervisory and Leadership Focus:

-You will provide effective and respectful leadership to associates by planning appropriate staffing levels, interviewing and selecting new staff, orienting and training them, communicating performance expectations and providing feedback, recognition, coaching, counseling, and creating career growth opportunities.

-You will understand the skillsets and capabilities of Associates, monitor and review their work product, and provide coaching notes throughout the process.

Firm Focus:

-You will participate in Firm non-billable activities and influence peers and subordinates in a constructive manner that reflects our core values. You will also show interest and contribute to the Firm’s ongoing initiatives and understand how Gallup Strengths functions within our team/organization.

-You will anticipate and communicate budget issues, identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability, and assist in billings and collections.

Client Service:

-You will serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients, advising them on a full spectrum of corporate tax services and managing their tax compliance needs. You will also assist with new business development and identify opportunities for additional services for existing clients.

Technical Expertise:

-You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing detailed analysis, and working on multiple complex issues while effectively communicating with clients and the service team. Additionally, you will stay up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

EXPERIENCE

-You should be well-versed in U.S. accounting standards (cash, tax, and accrual basis) as well as proficient in accounting and financial reporting skills. Knowledge of FASB, IRC, and computer software programs utilized by the Firm is also required. You should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
