Our client is a public accounting and consulting firm. We are currently seeking a Tax Controller to join our team in Beachwood, OH. As a Tax Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to clients. You will work collaboratively with clients, partners, and staff to ensure the highest level of service. In addition, you will be responsible for training and supervising junior staff, providing them with the guidance they need to succeed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Technical
  • Review various tax returns and related workpapers, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns
  • Prepare complex corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Serve as a technical resource for tax staff and interns
  • Conduct basic to complex tax research
  • Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and service providers to conduct comprehensive tax planning
  • Review federal, state, and local tax notices and draft responses
• Supervisory
  • Delegate work to tax staff and interns
  • Supervise tax staff and interns, setting expectations and performance indicators
  • Participate in firm-wide and tax department administrative projects
  • Act as key client contact person for some engagements
  • Foster and exemplify collaborative working relationships with all staff members
  • Assist with training of tax department or firm accounting personnel
  • Develop a network of industry peers and business contacts, meet with prospective clients, and cultivate referral business

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation
• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation from an accredited college or university
• CPA license
