The position of Tax Team Lead is responsible for collaborating with clients, partners, and staff to provide comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services. The role also involves training and supervising junior staff, providing a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills and advance in their career.

This position offers a flexible work schedule and can be conducted on-site or through a hybrid model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical
  • Reviewing various tax returns and related workpapers, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns
  • Preparing complex corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Acting as a technical resource for tax staff and interns
  • Conducting basic to complex tax research
  • Collaborating with colleagues, clients, and other service providers to develop comprehensive tax plans for individual, corporate, partnership, and trust clients
  • Reviewing federal, state, and local tax notices and drafting responses
• Supervisory
  • Delegating work to tax staff and interns
  • Supervising tax staff and interns, setting expectations and performance indicators
  • Participating in administrative projects for the firm and tax department
  • Acting as the main point of contact for some client engagements
  • Fostering collaborative working relationships with all staff members
  • Assisting with the training of tax department and accounting personnel
  • Building a network of industry peers and business contacts, meeting with prospective clients, and cultivating referral business

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation
• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation from an accredited college or university
• CPA license
