Sales Engineer

Representatives are eligible for a base salary plus commissions; however, once established, they may choose to transition to uncapped commissions. There is no relocation option, so candidates must be local or willing to move on their own. Residence within one hour of the job sites is acceptable.

The Sales Engineer is accountable for effectively managing existing customer accounts and creating new opportunities to meet annual sales goals.

The Sales Engineer oversees current customer relationships, seeks out and engages new customers.

Collaborates with management in the process of budget planning, works with the Area Operations teams to understand and promote available machine capacity and value-added services, and provides support to cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of the sales strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Clearly communicate the sales vision and strategy to identify leads for new opportunities, manage prospects, and generate a strong sales pipeline
  • Achieve or surpass individual budgeted and volume sales targets to contribute to the organization's yearly objectives
  • Consistently use the CRM system (Salesforce.com) to manage opportunities and maintain a pipeline of potential sales
  • Navigate within customers' organizational structure and build relationships at various levels
  • Manage contractual relationships and negotiate multi-year contracts
  • Deliver results by meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Drive Commercial Excellence to exceed Area volume and profit goals by developing new accounts within targeted segments, growing existing accounts, improving margins, and providing support for enterprise sales
  • Utilize internal resources to leverage knowledge of market trends and competition
  • Monitor profitability levels to track progress against budgeted targets and analyze monthly financial summaries
  • Understand market dynamics and business drivers that shape long-term commercial strategies, and develop strategies to achieve company objectives
  • Build relationships with other internal facilities to create opportunities for additional revenue streams across the enterprise
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers in line with the Sales strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of the overall Sales strategy
  • Identify value-added opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve margins
  • Manage customer engagement throughout the sales lifecycle to meet contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of business-to-business (B2B) Sales experience (preferably in the Manufacturing/service industry)
  • Experience in sales execution and pipeline management
  • Ability to drive results by influencing individuals across different functions
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated sales competence and financial acumen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI and QlikView
