Our client is a law firm specializing in Elder Law and Estate Planning. With multiple offices on Long Island, they are expanding and seeking an experienced attorney to work in one of their offices (either in Nassau or Suffolk County). The position is full-time in the office.
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to clients, assisting them in navigating estate planning complexities, and ensuring the protection and management of their assets
- Offering comprehensive and expert legal advice on elder law, estate planning, and administration to clients
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning instruments
- Representing clients in probate and estate administration proceedings
- Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations related to elder law and estate planning for individuals and businesses
- Assisting clients in understanding and navigating Medicaid eligibility and application processes
- Working collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal staff while managing individual caseloads
- Keeping up to date with the latest legal developments and changes in elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid rules
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and excellent customer service
Main Requirements:
- Expertise in elder law, estate planning, and administration
- Deep understanding of the New York State Bar and Medicaid requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in the legal industry, specifically in elder law and estate planning
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Extensive knowledge of Medicaid eligibility and application processes
- Proven track record in estate administration
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex laws and regulations
