Franchise Recruitment VP

About the Role:
The Vice President of Franchise Recruitment is responsible for leading a team of recruiters to attract and onboard future Owner-Operators. Our stores are mostly independently operated by individuals or pairs with experience in retail management and a drive for entrepreneurship. You will oversee a team of approximately 15+ recruiters who generate over 30,000 leads annually to identify Aspiring Operators nationwide, supporting the company's rapid store growth. Aspiring Operators will undergo an intensive five-month training program before being chosen to run a store. The goal for identifying Aspiring Operators in 2024 is set at 70, with increasing goals as our store count and business expand. The VP of Franchise Recruitment will report directly to the Chief Stores Officer.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Innovate and develop strategic plans for recruiting Aspiring Operators, including expansion into new markets and lead generation strategies. Scale the team and departments within the company to achieve goals. Communicate the value proposition to potential Aspiring Operators and execute recruiting objectives.
  • Understand the role and goals of Aspiring Operators Recruitment within the overall company strategy and establish aligned objectives.
  • Lead a team of experienced recruiters to generate leads, evaluate talent, and recruit AOTs (Aspiring Operators) with the necessary competencies to exceed identification quotas in their respective markets as the business grows.
  • Collaborate with business partners, including the Aspiring Operators Training and Transitions teams, to identify and develop key capabilities and assessment tools for successful Aspiring Operators.
  • Set recruitment targets based on geographic and timing requirements for store openings. Align closely with Real Estate and Construction teams and the New Store Success team to coordinate store opening schedules.
  • Manage the budget for Aspiring Operators Recruitment and marketing expenses.
  • Establish an internal recruiting program in partnership with the Aspiring Operators training team.
  • Motivate and collaborate with direct reports to support their professional growth. Set measurable goals and provide regular coaching and feedback. Recognize strong performance and address any performance issues promptly and consistently.
  • Utilize resource tools to develop pipeline opportunities.
  • Travel to meet and network with internal stakeholders and potential candidates.
  • Monitor business direction, industry developments, and market trends.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in recruiting and leading efforts for customer-facing business leaders, such as franchisees in a restaurant chain.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment.
  • Passion for working with Independent Operators to help them enhance and expand their businesses.
  • Demonstrated success in assessing talent effectively.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills, especially in aligning current efforts with future role openings.
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and achieving results.
  • Exceptional listening and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled in time management.
  • Prior experience in grocery, retail, or customer service.
  • Experience in performance assessment and coaching.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels and departments to overcome obstacles for the team.
  • Previous experience managing remote teams.
  • Experience in team budget management.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Innovative mindset to rethink processes and approaches for improved outcomes.
