Position Purpose:

As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the allocation of resources for inbound and outbound warehouse operations, fleet services, facilities management (including building, property, maintenance, security, and sanitation), transportation (including routing, delivery, logistics, and backhaul management), and equipment maintenance.

This role is part of the senior leadership team and reports to the President of the company. You will be leading and managing the Operations Department staff, ensuring achievement of performance metrics, effective expense and revenue management, and compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate the operations leadership team and front-line associates
  • Analyze facility capabilities and plan for future growth
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies
  • Oversee maintenance activities to minimize accidents, product or equipment damage, and unnecessary costs
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency situations
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Procurement to address customer and delivery issues
  • Continuously improve operational strategies and processes based on industry knowledge
  • Manage budget development and monitor expenses, labor costs, and procurement
  • Lead and drive operational performance to meet financial targets
  • Direct physical inventory processes to optimize cash flow and customer service
  • Provide support to other departments in achieving their goals
  • Participate in meetings and activities to build customer relations and solicit new business
  • Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to food safety protocols
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations and positive employee experiences
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

10+ years of relevant experience
