Welding / Maintenance Technician
Location: Peachtree City, GA
A well-established company with a large market share in manufacturing and a positive work culture is seeking a motivated and skilled Welding / Maintenance Technician for their day shift team. This role involves maintaining welding equipment and site property, as well as performing weld repairs to equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner. The position is located in the southwest suburban area of Atlanta, GA and offers an attractive hourly rate with overtime pay at time and a half. In addition, perfect attendance is rewarded with an extra $1.00 per hour and there is a weekly paycheck. The company also provides an appealing 401K plan with matching benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Perform arc welding, mig welding, tig welding, and cutting of various materials
- Follow instructions and prints for basic fabrication
- Adhere to safe work practices around equipment
- Independently select appropriate materials and settings to optimize strength and performance of welds
- Evaluate work environment to ensure safety for facilities and others
- Achieve certifications in arc welding, mig welding, and tig welding in all positions
- Perform advanced fabrication and evaluate work environment for safety
Requirements:
- Level I: High school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level II: High school diploma or GED, with 2-4 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level III: Technical training certificates or associate’s degree, with 6-8 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic
- Problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and communicate effectively. The role also requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The ability to lift up to 80 lbs is necessary.
Working Conditions:
The work environment is typically loud, and there may be exposure to extreme heat, heights, outdoor conditions, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
