Lead Welder
Job Title: Welding Supervisor – 3rd shift
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $75-85K
Job Summary of the Welding Supervisor: The Welding Supervisor will be a key member of the manufacturing team, providing support to the Director of Operations and Production Manager. This position will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality and safety standards, and providing training.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Welding Supervisor:
• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, resolving problems, and reporting results
• Communicate job expectations to manufacturing staff, monitor job results, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures
• Select, orient, and train employees, and provide personal growth opportunities
• Monitor workflow, equipment, and resources, and implement cost reductions and process improvements
• Spend 50% of time in direct labor in the assigned area
• Identify and address safety and health concerns and maintain quality of service
• Ensure availability of materials for efficient production
• Encourage and develop production team members
• Compile and analyze production performance records and data
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Contribute to the team effort and accomplish related results as needed
Education & Experience of the Welding Supervisor:
• High School diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Welding experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead and generate results
• Problem analysis and resolution skills
• Commitment to quality and safety
• Valid driver's license
• Strong customer orientation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft products
