Job Title: Regional Sales Manager - Western US Food Industry
Location: Bakersfield, CA
We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to oversee our operations in the Western US food industry. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with over 30 food distributors across 19 states, with a focus on California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Our company specializes in frozen, premium, all-natural sweet and savory flavors, purees, concentrates, and blends that are sold through distributors to various establishments such as restaurants, resorts and hotels, bars, cruise lines, and specialty gourmet manufacturers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop relationships with 30+ food distributors in 19 Western US states, with a focus on CA, NV, and AZ.
- Grow market share, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed sales and profitability goals defined by the company.
- Manage and provide guidance to 1 Sales Representative.
- Identify revenue generating opportunities with distributor accounts, track trends, improve service and sales, and capitalize on new opportunities using sales reporting, online research, event leads, and other resources.
- Utilize CRM software to capture all customer engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales to review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual sales in the region, as well as provide input for the annual budget.
- Review communication strategy to ensure operational support needs are met.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- BA/BS degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in food sales and selling to foodservice distributors.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Excel on a daily basis.
- Ability to prepare and utilize 30/60/90-day planning.
- Strong skills in data analysis, sales reporting, product training, and trade show planning.
- Availability for approximately 50% travel with access to an airport.
