Our client, a law firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense, is currently seeking Senior and Associate Attorneys with a minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' comp -- either on the plaintiff or defense side, for a remote position in Sacramento, CA. Salary will be based on experience.

Residence in California and possession of a CA Bar license are mandatory.

Successful candidates will be responsible for managing the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, handling all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.

Main responsibilities include:

• Advocating for insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
• Preparing and maintaining correspondence with clients
• Drafting pleadings and negotiating settlements on workers' compensation cases
• Attending court appearances, managing schedules, and conducting depositions and doctor cross-examinations
• Negotiating lien claims and practicing proactive case management
• Supervising legal assistants to ensure efficient case support
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
• Participating in marketing events with new and existing clients
• Reviewing and working on case files, inputting case information into PracticeMaster and billing software
• Meeting deadlines for client correspondence and attending client file reviews
• Conducting training seminars for clients on evolving workers' compensation case law
• Staying abreast of current developments in workers' compensation case law
