Employment Injury Lawyer
Seeking experienced attorneys specialized in Workers’ Compensation defense law for a remote position. Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' comp, either on the plaintiff or defense side. Salary will be based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license are mandatory.
Attorneys will be responsible for managing the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, handling all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Key responsibilities:
- Advocate for insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Prepare and oversee client correspondence
- Draft pleadings and negotiate settlements for workers' compensation cases
- Appear in court, manage calendars, conduct depositions, and cross-examine doctors
- Negotiate lien claims and proactively manage cases
- Supervise legal assistant, ensuring efficient case support
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events for both new and existing clients
- Review and work on files, input case information into software systems
- Meet deadlines for client communication and attend file reviews
- Conduct training seminars on evolving workers' compensation case law for clients
- Stay informed on current developments in workers' compensation case law
