Employee Injury Lawyer
Our client, a Firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense, is currently looking for Senior and Associate Lawyers with at least 4 years of experience in workers' comp -- either plaintiff or defense side for a remote position in San Jose, CA. Salary will be based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license are mandatory.
Lawyers will handle the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, managing all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Main duties:
- Advocate for insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Compose and manage correspondence to clients
- Create pleadings and negotiate settlements on workers' compensation cases
- Attend court appearances, manage calendar, and conduct depositions and cross-examinations of doctors
- Negotiate lien claims and engage in proactive case management
- Supervise legal assistant and offer effective case support
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events with new and existing clients
- Review and work on files, input case information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Meet deadlines for client correspondence and attend client file reviews
- Conduct training seminars for clients on evolving workers' compensation case law
- Stay current on developments in workers' compensation case law
