Employment Injury Lawyer
Our client, a law firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense, is currently seeking Senior and Associate Attorneys with at least 4 years of experience in workers' comp - either plaintiff or defense side for a remote role. Salary will be based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license are mandatory.
Attorneys will be responsible for overseeing the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, handling all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Main duties include:
- Advocating for insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Managing client correspondence
- Drafting legal documents and negotiating settlements on workers' compensation cases
- Attending court appearances, managing schedules, conducting depositions, and cross-examining doctors
- Negotiating lien claims and ensuring proactive case management
- Supervising and providing guidance to legal assistants
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participating in marketing events with both new and existing clients
- Reviewing and working on case files, inputting information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Meeting deadlines for client communication and attending client file reviews
- Conducting training seminars for clients on evolving workers' compensation laws
- Staying informed on current developments in workers' compensation law
