Employee Injury Lawyer
Our esteemed client, a law firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense, is currently seeking experienced Senior and Associate Attorneys with a minimum of 4 years of expertise in workers' comp - whether on the plaintiff or defense side, for a position based in Fresno, CA. Salary will be determined based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license are mandatory.
Attorneys will be responsible for overseeing the legal defense of workers' compensation cases right from the beginning to final resolution, handling all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Main duties:
- Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Create and manage communications with clients
- Compose pleadings and negotiate settlements on workers' compensation cases
- Appear in court, manage schedules, conduct depositions, and cross-examine doctors
- Handle lien claims negotiations and implement proactive case management
- Supervise and mentor legal assistants, ensuring efficient case support
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events with new and existing clients
- Review and work on files, input case information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Adhere to deadlines for client correspondence and attend client file reviews
- Conduct training workshops for clients on evolving workers' compensation case law
- Stay informed about the latest developments in workers' compensation case law
