Employee Injury Lawyer
Our client, a law firm specializing in Workers' Compensation defense, is currently looking for experienced Senior and Associate Attorneys with at least 4 years of experience in workers' comp, either on the plaintiff or defense side, for a remote position. Salary will be based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a California Bar license are mandatory.
Attorneys will be responsible for handling the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Main responsibilities:
- Advocate for insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Prepare and manage communications with clients
- Create legal documents and negotiate settlements on workers' compensation cases
- Participate in court proceedings, manage schedules, and conduct depositions and interrogations of medical professionals
- Negotiate lien claims and practice proactive case management
- Supervise and guide legal assistants to ensure efficient case support
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Engage in marketing activities with new and existing clients
- Review and work on files, input case information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Meet deadlines for client communications and attend client file evaluations
- Lead training sessions for clients on developing workers' compensation laws
- Stay current with knowledge of workers' compensation laws
