Electrical Manufacturing Supervisor
The role of an Electrical Manufacturing Supervisor in Buffalo, NY involves leading and supervising a team of electricians to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget. Responsibilities include managing team performance, providing technical expertise, and adhering to plant policies regarding safety, quality, and sanitation. The position also involves identifying recurring line issues, responding to operational issues, and conducting safety audits. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of electrical systems, circuit boards, processors, and electronic equipment. They must be able to communicate with external stakeholders and have their own tools. The pay range for this position is $43.10 - $44.10 per hour.
Project Management:
- Plan and schedule electrical projects, select contractors, and establish installation schedules.
- Estimate time and materials needed for projects.
- Maintain records and documentation of ongoing projects.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians.
- Support continuous improvement and problem resolution processes.
Technical Expertise:
- Understand electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Provide technical support to team members and clients.
- Be a go-to resource for production-related issues.
Team Leadership:
- Train and mentor team members on technical skills.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress toward goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet objectives.
Safety:
- Promote safe work practices and participate in safety programs.
- Ensure work complies with safety regulations and standards.
- Establish and enforce safety procedures and protocols.
Communication:
- Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Communicate with shift supervisors as needed.
- Apply contract and corporate policies to guide the department.
Additional Job Description:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and electrical systems up to 600V.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs preferred.
- Able to work safely at heights and operate equipment.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs and understand equipment mechanics.
- Operate hand trucks and fork trucks as needed.
