Mechanical Engineer Designer
Location: Memphis, TN
Our client is currently seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer Designer to join their team in Memphis, TN. This company is a leading manufacturer in the electric power industry and is experiencing significant growth.
The primary role of the Mechanical Engineer Designer will involve overseeing the design and development of new products for the electric utility market, as well as managing engineering activities related to the maintenance of existing products.
- Generate new product part and assembly designs, drawings, and specifications
- Evaluate and recommend specifications to ensure products meet technical and functional requirements
- Analyze proposed product changes
- Conduct feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations
- Oversee prototype development and testing
- Coordinate the creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes
- Recommend and implement efficient and cost-effective procedures
- Prepare test reports for internal and external use
- Collaborate with engineering team members to meet project milestones and deadlines
- Provide technical support to Field Sales personnel
Qualifications
Requirements:
- BSME degree or equivalent
- 2-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks or ProE
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding, etc.
